Ava is now 6 1/2 months old! How time flies! We had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's! We spent the week of Christmas at the Cate's house in Tampa. Ava was so precious on Christmas morning, we had her "try" to open up her gifts, but she was more interested in getting the wrapping paper in her mouth. She got lots of toys, books, a high chair and 2 baby teeth for Christmas. Yes, Ava broke her first 2 bottom teeth while we were there, and it was not a fun experience for mommy and daddy! There were a couple of sleepless nights involved with a fussy unhappy baby! Overall our Christmas was alot of fun with our Cate family though. I look forward to the next Christmas because Ava will be old enough to somewhat understand opening presents and it will be so fun to see her excitement!
We returned back to Tallahassee after Christmas. Chris had to work the week leading up to New Year's so Ava & I went to visit my parents in Enterprise, AL for a couple of days. My aunt Ina and uncle Brit were there for the holiday and got to meet Ava for the first time. My aunt cried when she first saw Ava, it was a sweet moment. Ava of course got spoiled the whole time she was there, and got held constantly, which she adored! Ava and I then returned to Tallahassee, and then all of us were back in the car New Year's eve on our way back down to Tampa to go to the Outback Bowl on New Year's Day. Thank goodness for grandparents who kept Ava while Chris & I went to the game. It was an incredibly exciting game and I was so glad that we were able to be there. Especially since Auburn pulled out a win! War Eagle!!!
This January has been good so far. We started to feed Ava rice cereal, which she seems to like okay. She gets really excited when she sits in her high chair, and we plan to start fruits & veggies next week. I'm sure we will see some funny faces from Ava as she experiences these new foods!
Ava went to her 6 month check up last week. She weighs 15.3 lbs, she is 25 1/2 inches long, and in the 40th percentile. She is growing like a weed!
The last week of January I'm returning to my old job in the outpatient PT clinic. I will be working 20 hrs/week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I will miss my little munchkin on those days, but we have found a very nice retired school teacher named Diane (who lives in our neighborhood) to babysit Ava during my work days. Ahhh, our little baby girl is growing up.

Ava loves the camera, Cheez!!!
